How to analyze etsy reviews
Etsy reviews are item-level buyer feedback on a handmade, vintage, or craft-supply shop. They are usually short, and they mix the thing that arrived with the way it was packed and how long the label took to appear. For a small shop, twenty detailed reviews can teach you more than a star average.
We do not have an Etsy Chrome extension. Etsy does not publish a simple public CSV of every shop review for visitors. If you own the shop, open Shop Manager and read reviews there. Copy rating, the review text, the date, and the listing title into a spreadsheet. Order exports from Shop Manager are useful for fulfillment, but they are not always a complete reviews file, so do not assume an orders CSV already contains every comment.
Some shops keep a running sheet because they already track custom requests. That sheet is a good input. We will not point you at unofficial Etsy scrapers. They violate Etsy's terms more often than they save time, and they are unnecessary when you already have Shop Manager access.
Columns to include: rating, review text, date, listing or item name, SKU if you use one, and order date if you have it. Rating and text are required. Listing name is the Etsy equivalent of Amazon's variant column. "Smaller than photos" on one digital mockup should not force you to redo every listing. Shipping complaints should be tagged to the week they happened so you can see a carrier delay versus a production backlog.
Insights that show up on Etsy: shipping time vs. the stated processing window, packaging, "photo is brighter than the real item," personalization mistakes, smell or material sensitivity, and "not the size I thought." Digital shops get file-format and download confusion. Made-to-order shops get "communication during the wait." Praise is often highly specific: "the handwriting on the tag," "it arrived for the wedding." Those lines belong on the listing and in the insert card.
Star ratings on Etsy run high, so a 4-star review can still be a useful complaint. Read 3 and 4-star text instead of only 1-star rants. Buyers who mostly liked the order will tell you the one thing to change.
Upload the spreadsheet on this page. The analyzer stays in your browser. Use it before you rewrite a listing photo or change a processing time, not as a public widget of other buyers' quotes unless those buyers already posted them on Etsy.
